Straits Area Grape Growers Association (SAGGA) represents grape growers throughout the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, including Alpena, Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, and Emmet counties. Through its membership, SAGGA works to promote the local grape and wine industry. The association actively works to continually improve the quality of grapes coming out of the region through organizing educational opportunities of its members.

The Northern Michigan Straits Area Grape Growers Association is a 501 C5
non-profit organization whose mission is to promote Northern Lower
Michigan as a premiere source of wine grapes and wine with emphasis on
the area's unique history, culture, climate, and geology while
encouraging excellent land stewardship and the use of sustainable
agricultural practices. The Association also seeks and provides
information on viticulture, promotes value added uses for grapes other
than wine, networks with government agencies, educational institutions,
development organizations, and private industry. The organization seeks
to do all this while developing a robust social and political
environment conducive to grape growing and wine making for the benefit
of it's members.
